This training for the Texas CDFI Coalition empowered participants to become effective advocates by showing how organizations can help shape policies that impact individuals, families, and communities. The training covered Advocacy Basics, providing foundational knowledge on how the legislative process works and how to engage with elected officials. Participants also learned strategies for conducting successful Legislative Meetings and gained insight into the current Federal Legislative Landscape through a presentation by Baylee Anderson of Public Private Strategies. To support ongoing advocacy efforts, attendees were introduced to a comprehensive toolkit and a variety of resources designed to help them build relationships with policymakers, communicate key messages, and take meaningful action on issues that matter most.
